Speaker Upgrade Prices

Why Upgrade?

  • Because the stereo repair shop can't fix your speaker. They only replace parts, they don't re-engineer.
  • Sound Projects can and will remanufacture your system.

Upgrading your system will pay off in these ways:

  • Upgraded speakers are easily worth double their value when compared to new speakers. To match the $200.00 level of performance you spend on the upgrade, you'd have to spend at least $450.00 on new speakers to come close.
  • You are paying for speaker components only. The cabinet amounts to half of the price of a new system.
  • You get better quality sound and performance tailored to your needs.

  • Upgrading reduces costs and allows you to keep a system you already like the looks of.

What you get:

A super high quality system at an affordable price.

  • Sound Projects administers the extra little tweaks to improve performance which can't be economically done in factories. Additionally, Sound Projects will make the improvements that net the most performance gain. The key is customized service for our customers.
  • All assembly, tests, and measurement are performed at Sound Projects. Test data and interpretation are available.

How is it done?

Prime cabinets for Sound Projects upgrades are those made of 3/4" particle board. Bracing, sealing compound, and interior wall dampening are added to make the cab air-tight and quell the "boxey" sound.

All crossover and speaker parts are replaced with better-than-original quality components. See upgrade pricing

The following optimizations are also available:

  • Low Frequency Power Handling
  • Tweeter, Mid-Range, Bass Driver Upgrades
  • Crossover Upgrades & Tweaks
  • Crossover Crosstalk Minimization
  • Crossover component swaps:
  • mylar, polyester, polystyrene capacitors;
  • large guage inductors and cabinet wiring
  • Front Baffle Re-Designs, Re-Do's, Cabinet Reinforcement
  • Speaker Terminal Replacements (using 5-way binding posts)
